- The story begins with the re-openning of the Kupu Kupu Barong resort in Ubud, right in the heart of Bali, in 2004. With its fully renovated tradtionnal Balinese villas, new constructions, amazing spas and restaurant, the hotel became one of the major luxury hotel of the island and an institution for the most romantic and demanding travellers.
In 2009 the French Management of the Kupu Kupu Barong starts a partnership with L'Occitane en Provence for its famous Tree Spa what as an evidence will become Mango Tree Spa by L'Occitane.
In 2011 the butterfly (Kupu Kupu in Bahasa Indonesia) spreads his wings to alight within hundred meters of Jimbaran Beach. Kupu Kupu Jimbaran offers spacious suites, spa, shops, restaurants and a unique Beach Club to its privileged guests.
